I believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant Word of God and that it should be interpreted faithfully, with careful attention to its language, context, literary form, and intended meaning.
That Jesus Christ is God Incarnate, became man to accomplish our redemption, was crucified, buried, and bodily resurrected, is presently seated on His Father’s Throne, and will soon return to establish His Kingdom on the Earth.
I believe as it states in Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
I take the study of the Word of God seriously by emphasizing the importance of being precise in every word and doctrine. My aim is to be like the Bereans in Acts 17:11 NKJV “These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.”
I believe in challenging damaging and heretical doctrines and that in doing so it is not “judging” others. As a believer in Christ, it is my job to judge false doctrines and actions for purposes of evaluation, not personal condemnation. Only God can see a person’s heart and with his perfect knowledge, He alone has the right and authority to judge to condemnation.
I believe the Bible should never be used as a weapon to harass, bully, intimidate, manipulate, control, subjugate, or harm another person. Scripture should not be twisted to justify cruelty, abuse, coercion, or the violation of another person’s dignity and conscience. I believe that those who claim to follow Christ have a responsibility to demonstrate His teachings through their conduct, including love, mercy, humility, justice, and respect for others.
A Personal Disclaimer
While I take my Christian faith seriously, I don’t always take myself—or religious culture—quite so seriously.
I am sarcastic, irreverent, occasionally foul-mouthed, and unapologetic smart-ass.
I question authority, challenge hypocrisy, and have a low tolerance for bullying, manipulation, and bullshit.
I believe in treating people with kindness, compassion, and dignity. I also believe in boundaries, personal responsibility, and standing up for yourself and others.
I may turn the other cheek, but I’m not a doormat.
I am, however, cheeky.
