Why You Won’t Find Pop-Up Ads Here
I know I may be leaving money on the table. And that’s OK. This site exists to reduce friction, not create it.
If I allowed third-party ads, I wouldn’t fully control which ads appear or what specific products they promote.
My readers don’t need manipulative advertising, pressure to buy things they don’t need, or recommendations I wouldn’t personally stand behind.
Besides… Websites like that put me in a bad mood.
Autoplay videos scare the crap out of me.
Flashing banners demand attention I didn’t agree to give.
Pop-ups that cover the screen with the invisible “x” button make me wanna quit the internet.
And by the time I finally get to the actual article, I’ve already mentally moved on.
So you won’t find those things here. Just practical ideas, honest opinions, and systems designed to make life a little easier.
Because this website is built around one simple principle:
Don’t make people’s lives harder.

My Core Philosophy:
Don’t Make People’s Lives Harder
Life is challenging enough already. We’re already tired and overwhelmed and managing a lot.
Then modern life asks us to manage extra paperwork, complicated budgets, never-ending appointments, passwords, subscriptions, apps, emails, emergencies, and an endless stream of decisions and maintenance.
And don’t even get me started on privacy policy notifications.
Sometimes it feels like the systems around us create work faster than we can remove it, in fact I would argue that many times they do.
I don’t believe a solution should create more problems or require more things to buy.
I don’t believe people need more guilt, more complexity, or more homework disguised as help.
I believe in practical systems that reduce friction instead of creating it.
I believe in teaching people skills they can keep, not dependencies they have to maintain.
I believe in asking difficult questions:
- Is this actually helping?
- Who benefits from this system?
- What are the hidden costs?
- Is this making life easier or harder?
- If this stopped working tomorrow, what could I take with me?
My goal is simple:
Don’t make people’s lives harder.
Help people build systems that make life easier instead.

Stay and Hang Out for a While
I’m Jaimie.
I’m an accounting ninja, rabbit mom, gardener, and someone who spends an unexpected amount of time asking:
“Why is this so complicated?”
I notice hidden work.
I notice unnecessary friction.
I notice when companies relocate problems onto customers and call it innovation.
And occasionally, I rant about subscriptions, privacy policies, and tax seagulls.
tax seagulls noun \ ˈtaks-ˈsē-gəlz \
- Small but persistent claims on a person’s time, money, attention, or sanity.
- Fees, forms, rules, and surprise obligations that appear uninvited, steal your fries, shit all over your schedule, and somehow convince you this is normal.
I believe a lot of time and resource friction isn’t caused by one big thing.
It’s caused by all those tiny claims piling up until ordinary life feels harder than it should.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by everyday life—or suspected there has to be a simpler way—pull up a chair.
I’m glad you’re here.
